A weekly update. Or something.

This is going to be a short on text update, as frankly I find myself slowly becoming comatose. I think jetlag is still getting to me a bit.
Settling in here fine. All my housemates are officially moved in and I know where all my classes are now (theoretically – I still need approval for one of my courses -shakes fist at the absent prof-). Classes officially start tomorrow, so I’ll be getting an early night tonight – although given my inability to stay awake most days that isn’t saying a lot. Sent off the first batch of postcards but still have another 10 or so to write out and send, so if others get theirs before you don’t be offended. I’ve had to break up the sending anyway because honestly it was going to cost me a fortune to send them all in one go.

Friday I’ll take a proper walk around the uni and through the arbortum so I’ll have more interesting pics to put up (not to mention more relevant). Saturday I have a Niagra Falls trip (excitement plus!) so I’ll have more to report then too. In the interim, here’s what I’ve snapped the past couple of days:

Pep rally - spot the Steph!

Pep rally

Duke Wilfred Huffington the Third says hello to Aries, our new fish

Sir Wombat (his shortened name) says hello to the other new kid, Athena

My latest batch of anti-drop-dead pills. The pill bottle made me laugh

My treat for the week ($5) to make the room feel more homey... taking bets on how long I keep it alive for

Our door in all its glory

The condom and candy jar! Why? Well actually there's a pretty good logic behind it.

This just appealed to my low humour threshold

Lego candy! I think I'd just play with it though

I found this decidedly creepy

Proof that I can occasionally cook for myself

In one of the theatre buildings. I thought it was cool

Random entryway. Also something I just thought was pretty

Toffee apple shop in the mall - INSANE

And with that, I must head to bed.

P.S. Squirrel count: 16

  1. Cute photos of little bits and pieces. WOHOOOOO about Niagara falls, definitely on my to do list one day. 😉 Can’t wait to hear all about it.

LOL at lego candy, how funny. Looks like Canada has a few quirky things. Good luck with your classes, make sure you stay on top of everything.

Thinking of you, while I am storing in boring little Adelaide.

    lots of love xo

    • Thanks hun 😀 thinkin of everyone back home all the time too. And Adelaide isn’t ALWAYS boring 😉 … not always anyway 😛

  2. Oh Baby pacifiers – definately creepy.
And I don’t get the logic behind the condom and candy jar – both small items needed urgently and often forgot? I would also put pens in that jar.

It’s finally something close to warm here – it’s fantastic. And I went to a seminar that said that going out in the sun and increasing your vitamin D levels may help alleviate your allergies – dont ask why, just go with it. Try it and let me know if it seems to do any good.

    And I like your door.

    • Pens seem like a good way to end up poking holes in aforementioned condoms 😛
Actually it’s because that way when she offers you the condom and candy bowl and politely turns her head away, you can rustle away and not be embarrassed about taking the condoms as it looks like you just took the candy instead.
That said, I am highly skeptical of free condoms.

Suddenly all my allergies make sense! Me and my constant lack of Vitamin D haha. Shame there’s currently no sun for me to make use of this advice.

  3. -likes that you got to Canada safely-

Remember, photos of wolves. Make it happen.

    • Will do my best sir. Although as previously stated, they’re not in this area so I’m counting on Toronto zoo to provide them 😛

  4. Uh, HELLO. I’m noticing a distinct lack of “My First Car” kangaroo on the door.

    • LOL that’s because it’s a communal door, not MY door 😛
When I get a printer it shall be up on mine 😉
